Have you heard of The Rosetta Stone?
It's a black basalt stone that was found in 1977 and is considered one of the most important objects in the British Museum.
Why?
Because it holds the key to understanding Egyptian hieroglyphsāa script made up of small pictures that was used originally in ancient Egypt for religious texts.
It helped experts understand ancient Egyptians hieroglyphs due to its inclusion of both Egyptian and Greek inscriptions:
Hieroglyphic writing died out in Egypt in the fourth century C.E.. Over time the knowledge of how to read hieroglyphs was lost, until the discovery of the Rosetta Stone in 1799 and its subsequent decipherment."
And much like the ability to read hieroglyphs was lost, so too was the ability to understand the original programming language Bitcoin used: Bitcoin Script.
